Scholarships

                                            The Carl Doty Visual Arts Scholarship

                                                           

This scholarship is in honor of Carl Doty- philanthropist, patron of the arts, supporter of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, and the Friends of the AGNS Western Branch Society.

The scholarship, valued at $1500., is to offset the costs of tuition/training for a student who is in his or her final year in high school, community college, or homeschooling in Tri-County area of south western NS (Yarmouth, Digby, or Shelburne County) who intends to study Visual Arts in a recognized program (or setting) of higher learning. Students coming from the Tri-County area, who are currently enrolled in a recognized post-secondary visual arts program, and entering the second or subsequent year of a recognized program are also invited to apply for this scholarship.

The scholarship is administered by the executive of the Friends of the AGNS Western Branch Society along with a designated member of the Yarmouth Arts Society. All applicants will be advised of the results. A cheque will be sent directly to the institution once proof of enrollment is provided.

The completed application must be received by May 1, 2024, to be considered for the 2024/25 Scholarship.
